anyone have any recommendations on surf fishing lures for halibut that don’t pick up a ton of weeds/kelp. Been using the LC lately and they seem to pick up a lot of junk with the three trebles. It’s not terrible but wondering if there are any other weedless lure options for surf. Thanks

You have thought of changing out the trebles for singles...?

Drop shot is better but not 100%

I’ve also toyed around a little bit with a weedless hook and a fluke as well as a gulp ghost shrimp but haven’t actually landed anything in the surf with it yet so good luck!

None of these will cover as much water as an LC though. The need to be fished slower unfortunately.

In addition to that weedless fluke with that weighted hook, I've got a bunch of them, usually short, not in the surf but from jetties, rocks in harbors using a Carolina rigged slug bait like a plastic similar to a sluggo or MC slug using an offset bass hook of the appropriate size for the lure like a Gamakatsu or owner. A lot less hangups with the weedless setup but a lower percentage of good hookups due to weedless setup when they take it. Use maybe a 2 to3 foot leader after the weight and just bounce it in off the bottom after whipping it out there.

Try a Krocodile or Kastmaster with a weedless treble.

Spinnerbaits are what you're looking for...reebs makes a super high quality product...chartreuse/white and blue/white are really good.
