Weds 7-13 offshore report for the GalaxSea:

Short Report:
13 albacore (1 bait fish)
Very rough after the morning, and the rest of the day, especially on the way in
169 NM, burned 132 gals of diesel

Long Report:
My Dad took Bill Markle, his son and friend (I did not go) started at 71 miles at 32 over 44 for 5 or 6 albies and trolled a bit SW. The weather was OK going out by the way.

The seas got rougher then...They then went to the the D220 for a few more. Nothing at the 295 though. They then hit the 1010 for a few more and since it was so rough they started heading in around noon. The next 10 miles on the way in they picked up 4 more singles. The hot troll jig was the brown and white zukers per Joe & Bill. Bill also mentioned that the blk/purple zukers did ok. They mentioned they only trolled 3 jigs for safety reason....normally we troll 5. Joe said is was really rough coming in where they averaged 8-10 knots most of the way. The skies were overcast all day offshore. Not a bad trip for rough weather fishing.

Sounds like a good day - - especially considering the weather.

Weather sure turned quick, very calm just yesterday.

I wondered when someone was finally gonna post up that the rootbeer float zuker was workin. That color is the shit for albies. Mostly cuz no one else trolls it, so it's somethin they don't see all the time, IMHO.

but your Dad was probably on his way back as we were coming down. Damn, I had the root beer in my bag but didn't try it. I'll bet Dad is sore today, the boats we saw going north were taking it in the butt...LOL
