We are proud to have sent three boats from our fleet this past week Vagabundo, Calereste and Eclipse91, to Topolobampo, Sinaloa Mexico, to represent Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort, in this year’s El Debate Fishing Tournament. Last year it was our crew on the VAGABUNDO who won. This year, we did it again on ECLIPSE91 with Felipe Valdez, Captain Carlos Peralta Sr., Captain Sharluko Peralta, Hanna Shayota and David Cecena, winning second day, best fish of the day and also taking second place overall in the marlin category. Congratulations to the whole crew and to Felipe Valdez who is on a hot streak winning 3 out of 3 tournaments so far this year. Well done, amigo!

We’re midway into June, and temperatures are nearing the low 90’s with humidity to match. We are enjoying some cool morning breezes, and LOTS of fish

Our fleet had a truly awesome week on the water. Lots of catch and release rooster fish action just outside of the Marina in La Ribera, all the way south to the lighthouse. Lots of tuna, with the bite a lot closer than last week; huge schools under the dolphin only about 18 miles out, 4 out of the last 7 days. We’re seeing big schools of dorado, billfish on the surface, flipping mantas all over the place, hammerhead and mako sharks, and lots of happy anglers.

Lisa & Larry Owens, George and Minerva Aylor, along with Tammy and Bern Futrell visiting from Florida, said they couldn’t have asked for a better fishing trip. Aboard the DOTTIE BII, with expert captain Vicente Cosio, and his deckhand Marco Garcia, they landed limits of tuna, two days, plus a 50-pound bull and a couple of more, good sized dorado.

Welcome back to Ray Johnson and Mellody Thomason who are happy to be back on the water with their favorite captain of the last 20 plus years, Juan Garcia, aboard the ALEGRIA. “Fishing with Juan Garcia has always been a pleasure. We know there’s no guarantee to catch, when it comes to fishing, but with him, we always seem to do very well”.

Chris Riech and Derek Lamprecht were impressed with their crew Marco Yepiz and Daniel Sandez aboard the LILLIANA. It was their first time ever, and they caught and released six marlins. Very good job, Chris!

Joel Zumaya struck again! Welcome back buddy! This time, fishing alongside Joel Zumaya Sr., they had a fabulous time fishing aboard the 3Hermanos. Everything was great; they were having an awesome time landing tuna with cedar plugs, but his goal this trip was to catch and release a marlin. He got two, using a ballyhoo on one, and a hoochie on the other. Congrats guys!

Erick Jenkins and Star Riviere, from southern Texas, fished with their favorite crew aboard 3HERMANOS. They said they appreciate the professionalism and experience they get with them, every time they go out. They caught tuna and had a lot of fun with Valentin, their first mate, taking funny pictures after their trip.

Erick and Laura Stannard, fishing with friends, Rick and Tammy Abell from California, aboard the DUSTY BII, had a great day of fishing, reeling in tuna, and then enjoying their catch of the day for dinner. Doesn’t get much fresher than that!

Congratulations to all, and thank you for your loyalty, your friendship, your trust and your business. And remember, at Hotel Buena Vista, you check in as our guest, but when you check out, you leave as part of the Hotel Buena Vista family.
