Tell us your free market, non-govt-subsidized (we are sick of that) and sustainable plan for places like Olsens, snow creek, silver king resort.

Or better, if you have this big picture plan, don't tell us your intellectual property. Buy those places and make bank!

Greg I do love how much you think you are the total shit!!

But I agree with Tony....if you have a successful business plan that others have failed at, then why haven’t you bothered to execute it??

The place is a serious trek from Seattle for weekend getta ways and there is not enough of a season to provide for a decent ROI.

But if you have it figured out....then sucks you haven’t made it happen for the better of all of us.

It's not a free market when the government divvies out the supply of fish.

Masons isn't technically for sale so buying it is not an option. Guess that makes my plans not important, and I don't have the time or the energy to spell them out to appease a couple of Bd'rs. I have a different opinion than some of you guys, plain and simple. I'm not calling you wrong, I just don't think some see the possibilities. But that's my opinion. Sorry if I attacked anyone for their opinion.

Why don't I invest in a coastal resort? Fortunately I have a family to take care of and that takes a full time real job. So I guess that answers that.

As for this thread, Im out, shit attitude and all. If you want to carrying on a normal FTF conversation about this topic over some Jim or Jack look me up, Ill be on the north coast starting March.

Took his ball and went home...

Always possibilities, but reality is a low return for your time and investment. Need either a wealthy investor doing it for the love of the place, or the right family that pictures that being their life.

Level the playing field. It isn't and hasn't been.

Make the commercial/tribal fishermen use selective gear. There is no credible argument to let someone set a gill net that kills everything that swims into it while you close the recreational fishery to "protect" genetically unique fish. If your stated objective is to preserve alleles, allowing gill nets makes your mission statement read more like a myth than a directive.

Mark (clip) 100% of fish raised and released in hatcheries. You set rules that for most of the waters, recreational fishermen must release all unclipped (wild) fish. I have had hatchery workers tell me they don't clip them all and have had fish checkers wand my "wild" fish and then cut the necessary chunk to recover the chip. Your fish marking system has no integrity.

Not talking about The Tragedy of the Commons here.

Your "comprehensive" plan to preserve fish populations is not comprehensive, inclusive and could be argued, is scandalous.

And you wonder why people are angry?

You beat me to it! But.......BUT, it wasn't WDFW that put in the new dock. They let the city of Kenmore do it when the voters approved the the paved park walkways. There is a boardwalk/paved walkway connecting the park/senior center to the ramp facility now. Not such a bad cross government partnership actually, but I wouldn't give WDFW the lions share of credit for the dock either.:-)

Like I have stated before. I lived on Coulter creek , it’s was common practice for the women from the prison to only clip 1 out of every 10 fish ( chinook ) they killed way more fish than they clipped, when they were done for the day the pen was covered in dead fry. Most of the time these fish were stock out of the Dechutes.I know I’m getting off track but we had always had a big run of sockeye salmon in Coulter creek but when they put the hatchery in they said those fish were bad and they killed them off. Oh ya they all went into their smokers over several years. This kind of crap has been going on by the WDFG ever since I can remember, and until hunters, and fisherman unite and call BULLSHIT to the way they handle the resource it’s just going to get worse.

At Forecast Meeting this week I asked Ron Warren about this. WDFW is not planning to purchase the whole resort... just the ramp and parking areas. This allows Brandon to focus on the store and resort and frees him from maintaining the ramp and infrastructure. It provides public ramp access in an area with few other alternatives. So feels like win-win...

--Yeah! Big John and Little John, smoking themselves to death. The camping was not first rate, the toilets were a horror, but you could moor at a dock in the little "basin" and get out at first light for some decent kings along the kelp. And it was cheap,! Just a hop skip and a jump to Mussolini Rock where good things happened!! Watched Doc Thoke nail a 40+lb king there one day....
