For those that compound and wax their boat themselves I was just wonder what you have found to be the best products for your boat.

Do you do it more than once a year?
Have you found a 1 step cleaner wax that works well and your happy with?
Looking for product suggestions for a fishing boat that going to give so good protection and not necessarily a 3-5 step process for a 20+ year old boat.

Are you using a dual action polisher with special pads or just a old school Dewalt with a wool pad or combination?

If you wanna do it right and have proper protection and easier to clean after, one step cleaner wax will cause more work.
Compound, wax, polish. There is no shortcuts, especially with salt.
I use Meguiars products- compound - diamond cut 105. Wax I use is “gold class” carnauba liquid, or sometimes “Flagship”, but i prefer carnauba. Finish with “marine/rv high gloss polish”.

will be very easy in the future to do a quick wax, spray if you prefer.

Motorized polishers are just another tool, will make your job easier, but dont expect miracles, some guys prefer to do it by hand to prevent any damage and a lot of times, they come out better.

I have never found anything that works as well as Gel-Gloss Original, its a cleaner and polish. Stuff works great to polish just about every surface. Usually follow up with some wax.

The hull was in decent shape for 20+ years and we did the Gel-Gloss as recommended which worked well and now Meguire's Flagship wax. Ill post some pics when it's complete

So here are some pics of the hull. Still in decent shape for a 1998 that gets fished a lot.
I know there are some really good products and some that claim are much better but I guess that's with everything. I get it that you can do multiple steps and maybe get a better result but for a 20+ old fishing boat this worked for me. Im just impressed that I can see reflections in the hull
