This is how the owners, crews and the guests of some of the finest SoCal sportfishing yachts spent last week end. Their guest were 50 severely disabled US Veterans. Known as War Heroes on Water, this event was founded and hosted, without any public fanfare or publicity, by Anthony Hsieh, local owner of the 144' sportfisher Bad Company.

Thanks for posting! What a great event.

I hope I can contribute to it in the future.

We've been blessed to be invited to the Kick Off Party
the past few years. As a former Marine, it's a humbling
experience to mingle and talk with these veterans. Their
struggles and successes are truly inspirational.
Mr. Anthony Hsieh is a gracious and generous host.
Congratulations on such a worthy endeavor.
God bless these veterans and their families.

I was one of the vets lucky enough to be invited. It was an amazing event that Anthony Hsieh put together along with Freedom Alliance https://www.faoffshore.com . I spent 3 days on Fantail a 77 Hatteras thanks to the owner Joseph Fan with Capt. GJ Sacco at the helm with the support of Capt. Dave and Bill DePriest of Pacific Coast Sportfishing. On the final day GJ spotted a Swordfish and Bill tossed a bait on it. After 6hrs it ended with heartbreak but was awesome. Thank You to all that made it possible and the Avalon Tuna Club for hosting us for 2 nights.

My first comment of gratitude is to the veterans who sacrificed much for all of us. Anything I can say here will fall way short of the degree of appreciation we should all feel for you gentlemen. I’m also grateful that I made it through my service without any noticeable disability (ask anyone but my wife).
My hat is off to the War Heroes, to Anthony and all those who worked with him to make this happen, and lest we forget, all those men and women who are around the world right now serving our great country. Amen...

The Avalon Tuna Club hosted the emotional closing ceremonies where Anthony Hsieh was presented a US Flag from the Commandant of the entire US Marine Corps. Anthony is the real deal. As a teenager he worked on the Thunderbird out of Davey's Locker. Then he went to Harvard.
