    Howzit,
Last few trips been mostly diving, but decided to make use of the one day in spring break where the winds let up enough for a comfortable trip. Headed out around 7 am, hit the ledge to kaena, nada. Pretty sure I saw Pat atop his tuna tower and gave him a shaka. That Blackfin is a beauty. Went out to V and picked up a 5 pound aku in a bird pile, first aku on this boat so everything was good. Trolled out to the 1000 for a bit and picked up a 12 lb shibi on the only 5'' in the spread. Decided to call it a day and headed in to do some diving, but unfortunately couldnt find the ulua house i marked and only left with menpachi and a huge stick fish my friend wanted. Finally got blood on the the decks this year and cant wait for summer break. Good luck everyone n Hanapaa

I thought that looked like a stick fish in the corner of the photo. Good going on the tunas and taking advantage of your break from school.

Good one, Spencer. Glad to see that you were able to boat some kaukau on Sunday.

I was out there on Saturday and took a dirty lickin' in the wind and chop. Didn't even manage a tap on the lures.

Is that a humuhumu tail in that pic? How do you prepare those fish?

I actually hear that those Hagi are really good firm white meat -- I forget who did an article on those - maybe Mike Sakamoto (may he rest in peace). I haven't tried but I can see where they are a fat thick fish that would make a nice blocky fillet.
