Heading to Waco Texas in the middle of February for 4 days. Anyone have any recommendations on where to fish in Waco? Looking to fish for something a little more exotic than your typical bass fishing. Any alligator gar in that area?

Don't know too much about that area, I'm down on the coast, but Lake Whitney is beautiful and has a few guides who target striper bass. Not sure about the gar population there, but I kind of doubt there's many as the water is just too pristine. For gar I would go the the Trinity river which isn't too far away. A big gar will definitely be a memorable fish. Good Luck!
