So heading down with my wife to Mexico (PV) for the first time ever and neither of us took Spanish back in our school days and was curious if anyone had recommendations on a crash course in Spanish language so we can at least attempt to speak the native tongue while we are down there. Thanks for any advice. I have about a month and a half to learn....

Don't drink the water, or let them talk you into a timeshare seminar.

How long are you going to be there?
If you are staying - for the most part - in a known tourist location....don't worry about it. Even in the out-of-the-way locations, many natives actually know English.

Hell, every store and restaurant has folks that speak English. You just won’t know the shit they say about you :).

FYI, ice has their water in it... be careful. I get a prescription for amoxicillin before I go down. Just in case. Don’t be scared to eat at ththe crappy little taco stands. Damn good food.

Grab dinner (and a free shot of tequila w the owner) at Victor’s in the marina. Cool place.

This time of year there are almost more Canadians in PV than Mexicans. English will get you by 99% of the time.

No need for a visit to the doctor to get the prescription before you go, as you can walk right into any Mexican pharmacy and get any antibiotics and basically anything else you want for less over the counter.

Many of the folks down there want you to speak English so they can practice. You'll be fine even if you don't know any Spanish.

And be sure to look up Danny Gomez in LaCruz for fishing.
