What a trip, got in at 1:30AM this morning, dragging ass, but it's a really good tired! 10 hour drive
We got to Dana pt. Friday evening, really nice launching facility, about as busy as any I've seen! Had my daughter Katie, buddy's Paco, and keith along. Got bait at the receiver sat morning (Note to self: never get bait at Dana Pt. again), I have very good dual bait tanks, and the bait did not hold up well at all. Should mention, I run 1100GPH hour pumps, had one fail and all west marine had was a 800GPH, made a huge difference, lots of die off in that tank! Fortunately the fish would go on chunked bait ! We caught several quality Yellowfin, a few dodo's, no YT. Broke off or pulled the hook on lots of bigger models. Wish we had a few more days.......My daughter caught her first Yellowfin and first Dodo! Hell yeah! Met lots of nice folks down there, and I just kept the radio off, didn't wanna deal with the B.S. Our bigger fish came chunking inside the 277 on Sunday and then fishing Macks.

Awesome! The bait has been the main issue. They are going though so much of it.... Great pics!

Nice tuna--re. the Dorado, do they have any size restriction? Those seem pretty small.

Figures! Way to rain on my daughters parade! Your why I keep the radio off down South! Yup smaller size! Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of fishing your beautiful waters every weekend!
My daughter and friends first dodo's, no way they were going back! I put the wood to em and I'm having one for dinner. I will enjoy every tiny morsel......

Looks like good times were had by all.....Congrats. Dana Point usually has great bait, although a little marginal lately but it got the job done for 13 YFT on Sunday so it does not suck that bad....

And by the way, it is actually "you're or you are why I keep the radio...."

Dude this girl rocked it are you serious???.....Sure it's not the biggest dodo I've ever seen but I have seen plenty of "grown men" posting pics on this site of really pathetic stuff compared to this.......Please read the "don't be a dick" thread!

They'll always be somebody to rain on someones parade. Nice catch man, I would only say anything if you boated a Black Sea Bass or something. Mahi is my favorite eating fish. Good Job.

No worries! My daughter was fired up, she thinks she's a bad-ass now! Funny, she won't cut up chicken at home, she was chunking dines, setting lines, cleaning fish, you name it.......I had to drag her away from SD.

Congrats getting your daughter on some fish!

Never minds the drama queens on here, you came down from Nor Call, got it done and guys that live down here couldn't find a tuna if their life depended on it
