What the, what the.... guess my browser got updated at work! I can now do replies.
Could you show the jigs better. There may be something of value. Also is that a Vivif or a Hoochy Toad?

The one new in the package is a Vivif, Minnow. These are the jigs I have out right now. I have a bunch more in other boxes I'll have to open up again. Are The blue and white ones called candy bars? There are 6 new in the package. They say Salas O.POP on the bottom. The other pics are from a package that says Deb Don Bootees. One looks new, the other 2 have rough chrome.

The O.pop is interesting.I recently found one at a yard sale and couldn't find any info on it.Mine doesn't say Salas on it though.

So looking at these rods a little closer, it does appear what I thought was 88 may be another D8 or Was there a B8 model? Also the D96, could be D76?

Often the B represents that the rod was not factory wrapped. Sold originally as a blank, a bare rod designed to be custom wrapped for the end user.

It would probably be a DB. The corresponding number would refer to the length of the rod.

no squid. was first "swim bait" . Vivif was first, from France. then Weber Hootchy Toad, more pliable tail made in Wisconsin by cheese heads.

I have caught bass and yellows on Vivif and Hoochy Toads. The vivif tended to have a stiff tail - so to give them better action, the tails were shaved - looks like your grandfather used them and thought the same thing. Talk to Matt Salas about the O.Pop jigs.
