Very unhappy with Lowrance!!!!!!!!

    I just dropped over 5 K in electronics on a complete package including a Lowrance HDS-8 Gen 2, a HDS-5 Gen 2, 4G radar and the LSS-1 side scan sonar bundle.

    Got it all hooked up last weekend and it seems after talking to the Lowrance customer service tech, that the brand new LSS-1 is faulty.

    So I try to take it back to where I bought it from, and am told that Lowrance has discontinued the LSS-1 and they have no more to replace it with. Im told I must deal with Lowrance and Navico directly. So I call Lowrance and they confirm that I must send it in. Get this.....

    They will not pay for the shipping to send it back, and they tell me that it will be 20-30 days before I can expect it back!!!!!!!

    This is pathetic customer service from what I thought was a very reputable company. I would have expected them to say..."overnight that to us and we will get you a new one out as soon as we recieve it!" But a MONTH????!!!!!!!

    Very bad Lowrance!!!!! I am unimpressed!!!!!

    Return the LSS-1 and buy the LSS-2

    Seeing as how I wanted the latest electronics to date, That is why I bought the Gen2 Bundle... pisses me off that they put a LSS-1 in a Gen2 bundle if there was a LSS-2 available!

    I don't know that the LSS-2 is necessarily an improvement over the LSS-1. There is a good thread comparing the two over at thehulltruth in the electonics forum.

    if still under return policy I would return it to where bought due to defect and should have not sold you discontinued product.

    If you purchased this less than 30 days ago, wa state law is 30 days on anything from anywhere.

I will help you get this resolved and Ipromise that you will be satisfied and very happy with the new system. Myapologies on behalf of Lowrance/Navico if this experience started on a sournote but we will do our best to make it up. I will wait for your response.

    Sucks to have problems on BRAND NEW equipment that you just dumped a few grand on.

    I'd make sure they dont send you a Referb unit as a replacement... Good luck.

    Return it. and get the LSS-2. The Gen 2 is dealing with the HDS unit. The LSS-1 Sounder had to be shutdown over the loss of the Lawsuit. it was very fast that they had the new LSS-2 out.

    I feel the pain but the Seabass are calling and you can bitch about the CS after you get your ass in gear and figure how you are going to replace it. Return it on your dime and they send a replacement. or return it to the seller and take a chance for when a LSS-2 will be available.

    I don't think the LSS-2 is available yet. The transducer is really long compared to the LSS-1
    I was surprised to hear of the customer service issue. They have always taken care of me. I have had to go farther up the chain. If Tito doesn't take care of you, which I am sure they will, pm me. I will get you to one of the top guys inside that will take care of you. You will like your new electronics.

  18. I think I would have a bigger problem with the place that sold it to you. Did they tell you it was a discontinued model and you would not be able to return it if was faulty? If they didn't, then you may want to change the title of the thread and call them out instead of Lowrance.

    Nice move... Lowrance has been great for me including several service calls when setting up. I trust this will end up well.

    The HDS-10 has been rock solid for me.

    LSS 2 is not out until the end of April is what the factory told me this am. They are sending me a new HDS-8 package for my sled and the LSS-2 transducer will not ship until late April.
