A tradition unlike any other.
That about sums it up...
Yep, just when I really started to believe they would win the PAC
No worries T, I am not upset that you cancelled our Rose Bowl date. Hell, after squeaking by Nebraska, I was not very excited about it anyway. WTF was that
Trojans might win the south! Lol
ASU ASU ASU.......Yeah!
SDSU beat ASU. They held ASU to 36 yards rush, Benjamin to just 21 yards on 13 carries. Wilkins was 31-46 for 341 yards, 2 TDS and O INT. SDSU rushed for 311 yards and won. This is the same SDSU that lost to Stanford, whom Utah beat soundly. Utah was gashing ASU with the run. Moss had over 100 yards in the first half, while Benjamin had 80 yards on the same # of carries. Why did Utah go away from the run?
In the end, Utah gave up over 500 yards on defense; 250 yards rushing, which was way out of character. I think the coaching staff prepared them poorly for this game.
Up until this game, Utah had been able to avoid the injuries. Then Huntley goes down with a broken collar bone and the season is over. Second year in a row Huntley has broken his collar bone. I couldn’t even see how the tackle caused it. Thought it was his wrist at first because a defender did land on that. He’s listed at 6’1” and 200 lbs, but he is rail thin and not big boned. That’s why they tried to keep him in the pocket early in the season, but he’s better when improvising, so they cut him loose and there you go.
Jason Shelley is a decent QB, but he has limited reps and experience. Short at 5’11” and 200 lbs. Decent arm, good wheels. Not expecting a whole lot though.
Yup, that SDSU game was an ugly one from a coaching standpoint. Once they started to figure it out it was too late. They nearly came back a the end of the game but too little too late that time. ASU took out two # 15 teams this year though in Mich St and Utah. just not consistent.
Utah, ASU and SDSU are all, at the moment, above average football programs in my book. The parity in the college game is becoming more and more prevalent. With the exception of Bama, few teams seem to come to play every week, including my Buckeyes. The quantity of good play making athletes in the college game is amazing.
I am becoming less and less surprised by the end results. Your thoughts?
Still surprised at Syracuse #13!
Not a lot of parity in the SEC where the bottom 2/3 of the Conference is weak. The rest of the P5 conferences have more parity. PAC 12 and its 9 game Conference schedule cannibalizes itself through injury attrition. How is it that Bama faced it’s first ranked team at the start of November, then they take a powder and play Citadel before playing Auburn? Yeah Bama is good, scary good, but they preserve themselves well.
Which game against SDSU are you referring to, 2017 at the Murph or 2018 in their crib?
That series may cost the Aztecs future matchups with the PAC.
