Using Live Suckers to fish for Muskie

    My old roommates uncle had the record in Minnesota for muskie.
    He floated a baby chick out on a shingle, over the hole the big muskies were in. Over the hole he would jerk the chick off the shingle. As soon as the chick would flip around, the muskies would explode on it. Probably illegal now.

    It still works. Not illegal as far as I know. But baby ducks work better than chickens....they float better.
    I've found that mice work even better. If you can figure out a way to keep it on the shingle, it works. Alternatively, I've used "Mouse flies" which work well.

    These are all crazy ideas! I'll try anything at this point. The video was filmed in mid November, however, the lakes haven't iced over here in Southern Wisconsin (well maybe a little ice here and there, but no lakes are safe yet).
