This is the second trip on my(new to me boat). We left SI at 5am and picked up a scoop. Line was about 30-40 boats behind us. Bait was fairly beat up.

Our plan was to stay within a mile of the border and work towards the corner or 43. Just outside the 9 we started to see some life. Couple larger foamer groups mixed with bluefin and yellowfin. Never gets old watching them jump. We kept moving along and chasing them as we crossed paths. The goal was to find some kelp and we found one not long after the 9. Metered fish but did not get any interest. Continued to troll a and work west. The water temp dropped to 69 as we pushed towards the corner. We made the call to shoot up towards the 182 and then work the ridge south towards the border. We also made the call to get my brother and friend in the water with the spearguns if we found kelp. We found about 8 different kelps between this point and home. Just about every one of them was loaded with dodos and school yellowtail. The one in the meter pick had dorado everywhere. Ended up with 2 YT and a dorado. Brother missed a few bigger models of both species. All in all the skunk is off and I think this zone is about to explode. The weather was as good as it gets. Cruised 25-30mph without much issue. Burned 38 gallons for 90 miles.

They always eat the steel, but you paddy divers are crazy! Congrats!
Yeah for the record, I am way to big of a pussy to jump in out in the middle of the ocean. Not during shark week haha. I leave that to the other 2 and man the boat. We saw a shark less than 100 yards off one kelps and they still went in and shot a yellow. Nope nope nope.
*added some of his go pro pics from the dodo party patty

    Cool pics. !
I' dove for work in SCI way back when. Not a day would go by without seeing sharks bigger than me. Other than a tail slap that yanked my regulator out of my mouth and my mask off I never had a problem.

Shrugged it off and got back to work. You guys make too big of a deal out of it. IMO
