Good evening all,
I have good news and not as good a news about our amazing California grown United Composites USA. I have no idea how Randy has managed to keep pricing so low for so many years but kudo's to Randy and his staff for trying as long as they could to make sure we, the U.C. buying community, have not had to face year after year price increases, even though the factory costs continued to go up and up. Unfortunately, it is no longer feasible for U.C. to not raise prices in order to keep up with skyrocketing costs.. With Randy's approval I will be showing some of the price increases. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR THE GOOD NEWS that I hope helps offset the bad news.
As many of You know, U.C. does not scrimp when it comes to materials and components including the use of Alps Titanium guide sets on their RGP lineup. The quality of their glass and Carbon/graphite is often very expensive and unique to the industry such as used on the GP and the newest GPX blanks..
U.C. being a made in America company and more specifically a Southern California based Company has had to adapt to the new world of much higher costs for materials, components, labor, insurance, taxes and every other sort of financial increase across the board. Thus the unfortunate mandate for U.C. to raise prices starting September 1, 2022.
The company did a deep dive into the real and true cost of each item in their lineup as U.C. did not want to just raise prices unless the actual costs justified the increase.. This price increase, along with reflecting the increase in cost of production, now includes a PREVIOUSLY NOT INCLUDED IN THE MSRP, surcharge that the manufacturer has had to pay for fees, I believe imposed by the state, on each blank or factory rod they build..Both the factory and we the retailers/distributors, absorbed some of the surcharges over the past several years.. Yes, California legislation at it's finest.. And Yes, these regulatory costs had to eventually fall on the consumers as hard as we all tried not to.
Some of the items will not go up too much, with a few blanks going a few dollars lower while others, especially the higher end RCP, RCX, RGP Factory wraps and GPX blanks will see significant increases.. My review of the items on the new price list I have seen shows how the MSRP will go up for the following items. Please note, these are approximate MSRP price increases without getting into exact detail or numbers:
THE BAD NEWS (PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR THE GOOD NEWS)
RGP factory wrapped products will go up approximately 90 - 130 Dollars. Please remember these items use the now Very expensive Alps Titanium guide sets.
RGP factory wrapped 9E and 10E will go up between 50 and 80 dollars
GP Blanks will go up between 10 and 30 dollars
RCX factory wrapped Rail Rods will go up, on average, about 120 dollars. A lot of expensive material goes into making these items.
RCX Blanks will go up approximately 40 - 50 dollars
RUS factory wrapped products will go up between 80 and 110 dollars
RCP factory wrapped products will go up around 80 to 90 dollars
GPX blanks will see the largest percentage increase of around 80 - 90 dollars per blank with the 76 Gladiator going up about 130 dollars. (I am actually shocked how low Randy kept the prices for the introduction of these truly amazing products. Everyone who has pulled on or fished these incredible blanks have been amazed and delighted by their performance). A lot of material and time goes into the making of these magnificent items.

AS OF NOW, THERE IS NO EXPECTATION OF A FACTORY BUILT RGPX UNTIL THE HUGE BACK ORDERS OF PRODUCTS AT U.C. ARE TAKEN CARE OF. AND THAT WILL TAKE ONE HECK OF A LONG TIME. LITTLE DOUBT WELL INTO NEXT YEAR..

However, if you are near a Southwest Airlines airport, we may be able to ship larger rods but you will need to pick they up at the baggage claim.

None of us, including the great folks at United Composites, ever wanted to see a price increase.. But the real world price increase around the globe has finally forced U.C. to adapt to this crazy inflationary world we now find ourselves in.. Again, U.C. is the only American Company I know of that did not raise prices over the last several years regardless of the fact that their costs skyrocketed..
