    Hi

Looking for a popping / surface iron spinning rod rec. I have a Saltiga 5000H. I just got the Predator 80 for my 40 - 50# setup with JX Raptor and I love it.

Which UC blank would best for a spinning rod with great castability. I usually go on 8 day trips on the Excel down to Alijos, Ridge at the end of August - the wahoo, YFT, YT, dorado don't really get over 50 or 60 lbs. . . . but you never know :)

    Thanks

I think you're better off to get a real popping rod rather than a bait or jig rod. I do 10 days on the Excel at the end of Sept and take a Black Hole Challenger Bank S-801H for poppers. Nothing over the low 30's for me on the Ridge so far but I'm hoping for a 60-100 maybe on the lower banks.

Check out the US85Wahoo. It was specifically created for throwing those larger poppers. Does well with jigs as well.

This is was an opinion I seen from another bloody deckers. He classified popping rods as some of the leaders to check out.
#1 best: carpenters rod over $1000
    # close #2nd best was Black hole cape cod specials went between $500-$800.
#3 best bang for your buck and not break the bank account was OTI popping rod 2 piece 7’6 rod from tackle direct between $300-$400.
#4 is any popping rod such as shimano Terez under $270.
