Looking to launch and leave the truck and trailer at a ramp this Memorial Day Holiday. I used to leave my truck and trailer at Shelter Island up top for a couple days with no issues. Where in Mission Bay would be the best bet. I have used Dana Landing in the past with no issues but with the closure of SI I'll bet it's going to be a clown show. Is Glorietta Bay an Option how is parking never been there not to much info at the port web site. Thanks

Not much space to maneuver or park there. 10 spaces or so. Oh... and no smoking allowed.

Try South Shore ramp next to sea world. Lots of parking and well lit also not crowded like Dana, We like it :)

Glorietta Bay is still closed for construction. South Shores had a history of being Tweekerville with a lot of break ins. It has been a whole lot better now with the cops constantly patrolling it

Alot of tweekers at South shores.

I've had several confrontations while getting ready to head home.

One guy tried to open my passenger door claiming I had to save him from people that were after him. Turns out the cops were going through his camper and I watched them run his ass down as I was driving off. Funny in hindsight.

South Shores is a clean bitchen large ramp with lots of docking space, but as others have said, unfortunately it has had it's share of scumbags ripping people off. I actually had my truck and trailer stolen there while I was out fishing albacore years back...... not a fun experience at all!

All that said, it's pretty much a Russian roulette deal..... take your chance at any of the local ramps and hope for the best, as they all have had their share of break-ins and such.

The more I read it may be best to slip the boat and take the truck home for the weekend. Pain in the ... but would hate to come back to missing tires damage or missing rig entirely. My daughter is in the navy and is going to drive by glorietta bay today and check it out I'll post back any info she gets. Thanks for all your input.

Chula Vista is open and they're always empty, but you probably don't want to do that. I would probably take your chances with Dana and go early. Glorietta is still closed I think. I believe they said it's supposed to be done by June.

If your daughter is Navy she can access the base launch ramp by the dolphin pens next to liberty station......buddy of mine does that instead messing with the cluster at SI launch ramp. Does she know how to drive your rig and launch is the question? Good luck

That is an issue, she cant do either. I will have to see if its possible if she were to accompany me but in this day and age I doubt it.
