Man it's been two years since we had a Tuna on deck.. I feel like a rookie after last Saturday's Skunk.

I felt bad for my Vet buddy who lost his wife 10 days ago. That trip was my effort to distract him from the sorrow for a while. It did, but could have been better.

Keeping an eye on Saturday and Sunday. Will run one of those days. Saturday looks like a sleep in day though.

Waiting to head back to Tacoma took the afternoon on Saturday on account of the bar. I don't like bathing the boat in saltwater for no good reason!

Any thoughts on the o530 bar on the 1st?

Another question, where is everyone who is on the water getting their bar reports/forcast?

I went out once last week that I was little surprised the waves were breaking, I mean I was just surprised, we just went slow but I did turn on the spotlight.

I suspect it will be similar sun for the run out.

I'm thinking Monday looks about right. Halfway through the tide change at 6 am, and no 'S' in the forecast.. Not yet anyway.

So, with max ebb at 6:52 at 4.05kts but swells at reasonable level...is throttling down and being vigilant an adequate approach?

Years ago we went through the Skookumchuck rapids and anything beyond 20 minutes of slack current on spring tides (which we are essentially in) was a no go!

Oh, the boat will eat the chop up, no doubt. My concern is just how fun it’ll be bobbing around in 3’ windchop from the south and 2-3’ swell from the wsw. Especially when we can go the next day.

If we don’t fish Saturday, we will still get Carrie behind the helm for some really awesome practice.

As for the current, 4 knots is quite a bit. I’d want very good visibility. With the wind/swell from the south, I’d pass on running the gap between the south and sunken jetty. No reason to get into the chop that soon. Let the sunken jetty block some of the icky, depending on what the ebb current is doing. Either way, I’d want decent visibility.
