We have a plan to go out of Oceanside, where there no fish, Saturday morning and try for some YFT outside.
Can I get the Scoop on the bait situation there. I have heard conflicting times etc. Now I know there some regulars that go out of there who refuse to catch fish but I want to try to change things.
Thanks and see ya out there!!

The bait barge has been opening at 0500 on the weekends and you can make macs right outside the harbor around the red entrance bouy. Last weekend we got our bait from the bait boat, because they had just come in to offload, so it definitely wasn't cured. Mixed sardines & a few macs. The bait was in great shape though and stayed that way pretty much all day.

We'll be going Saturday too. Probably same plan. Channel 72. Good luck.

You can call 760 434-1183 to get a recording of hours and bait conditions. BTW you really have to go long from O'side to catch any fish because there are no fish right out of O'side :) as I am sure Adam is aware....

What was that? You know, when you're planning a trip, you want to take everything into account and read all the signs.

I can't imagine why anyone fishes out of Oceanside. Oh yah, I'll be going out of there on Saturday also with the wife and her sister. At night we'll try for some bugs also. We'll be in our motorhome (Tioga) in the lot. Come by and have a cocktail.
