Nice job Mike, that boy's getting big!
Thanks. I got busy this afternoon, I'm going to write up the long report now.
Yes and he didnt even know it til I told him. He saw the pic and went "whoaaa."
Yep , next time say the hell with the DMV. Yes, you're right a pic with 3 generations of fishermen with bloodydecks will be super!
Very long ride Dennis....12 albies at 21 to 33 lbs is alot of fillets and well worth the long trip. Give me a holler and lets go soon.
Thanks Chris...we gotta get you on a trip soon...Nick had a blast the last time you went. You should've seen Nick clearing lines, throwing chum, and knocking out the flopping albies on the deck as a true deckhand...he's becoming quiet the fisherman.
Mike thanks for the trip, it was an adventure, calm seas great company and fish to boot, it doesn't get any better in my book.
Also being entertained by Nick all day was a hoot, he's going to be a real fish killer like his dad.
Thanks Don...I had a blast too and I appreciate all of your help on the trip. Lets go soon!
Definitely the best I've seen for that age. He's got his sea legs too! You realize that he is completely ruined now, right? I mean, I don't see how that kid wont be a pinhead as soon as he can. Keep up the good work pops
Nice Mike!...Still remember when you took me out and we limted in 1 hour!!! Hope your doing good.
We'll have to wait and see, but wow has he taken to saltwater fishing.
Doing well thanks...what year was that Eric? Must be between 2004 or 2006.
good job mike, that was a long ride but worth the effort, you caught mor than some of the 1.5 day boat.
nice catches bud nice report
Nick is getting there. Our last trip I was impressed with how he handled the pole without help. Kid has no problem getting to the bow. Just think how he's going to handle the gaffing in the future. Too bad about Joe's Yellowtail that was lost on the kelp. Wish I could of joined you. Can't wait for September.
Thanks Vue, Tim, and Hugo for your comments.
Yeah Kurt and I took Nick last Fri to la jolla kelp, albeit he's squirrely half the time, he was sitting there w/ a rod in his hand and working it or checking for a bite like the big boys...i was thinking to myself, hes getting it. When he was 5, he hooked 4 yellowfin tuna on his own during a wide open bite...now that was cool. Regarding Joe, he horsed it...he couldve used some techniques (i.e put it in freespool for a while or crank the fish in w/ the tip in the water). I will give you a holler if/when we go again Jimmy.
Yup it was July of 2005...those were my first Albies...thanks again
Mike,Joe,Nick and crew, Way to go on the albies. What a great detailed report. Blood splatter from an albie tail slap -priceless.
