Offshore Trolled 499 and all over.

Got to Davies long Beach launch pretty late, first time there so I wasn't aware of no single vehicle parking. Only trailered parking. After trying to find safe place we decided to go to the Huntington beach launch few miles away. Not a bad lil spot. Parking fir single cars as well. We launched about 6am. Shot out to the 499 and surrounding area. Beautiful seas and overcast most the morning. Saw dozens boats, heard of few hookups. But no luck for us. We trolled 5 mad macs 2- 240s way back, and 2- 160s just in front fcthem and a 200 even closer downstream center. Didn't mark any bait or fish. Didn't see any jumpers, foamers. We trolled from the 270 straight put then back towards the 499. Then came around to avlon and trolled all the way back. My partner for Sunday got sick so I decided to just come home. My luck it will be foamers far as cam see. Oh well. I'll be back at it nxt wk end. Even solo if I have too.

Float started after 11 am till 12:30 sorry you weren’t in the right location

Trolling speed important and distance from boat important. Important to be where the fish are while trolling.

No leader of any kind for me. Straight tying 100lb and 130lb 100 foot mono top shots right the solid ring that comes attached with the Madmac. Landed 4 and not one nic or abrasion above the knot in the mono.

Color may be important. I had 4 strikes on the 200 black with pink stripes and zero strikes on the 200 green mackerel while trolling both at the same time. Bright sunshine

Yeah, I had them way back running 10mph and at times 12mph. Purple and pink was what I had. I'll be back out nxy wkbend even if I have to run solo..I'm determined to get me a 100lber on my boat even if I have to drag it with a rope back in. Lol

Yeah, its all gd. I'm gonna go back every weekend til I get them lol. I honestly enjoy out there trying as much as catching although catching is the name of the game. But being new at this its expected til I learn more. You guys are giving me the best advice, tips and tricks I could ask fir. So I can't complain. I git the boat, gear and your guys help. So its gonna happen lol.

Totally different for us 10 strikes on green mackerel,3 on Spanish and 1 on sardine.
We land 3 due to lazy to change the stock hook.Fishes size ok 120 to 180.

Pick the zone get there spend an hour working
If nothing move to the next zone.
