Fished the Tribute Thursday on an overnighter. Went just south of the Coronados. Paddy hoppin style of fishing for limits of yellowfin, some dorado, and a few yellowtail mixed in. Bait, heavy jigs, and poppers were all getting bit. Weather was good fishing was good. I fished the popper most of the day as did my dad and he was rewarded with 2 nice dodos. Just wish the tuna were bigger. Average size yellowfin was about 5lbs :(

    Weather: good
    Location: just south of Coronado
    Fishing: was entertaining
Crew: professional everyone seemed professional. No complaints
Catching method: bait, mega baits, flat falls, Halco Poppers. My Dad used the IMA Big Stick in rainbow trout color seemed to get bit more often.

Thanks for the report! With quality dorado like those, who cares what size the tuna were? Good job.

Oh man.. I'm on that boat next week. I hope we don't go fishing for trout tuna as I'm coming from the Central Coast and driving 6 hours just to get on the boat. Going for micro tuna would not be what I want.

5 pounders? That sucks if that's what's coming up the line. Hopefully the 35"s will stick around and maybe we'll get some Wahoo and BET move in with the warming water.I'm just saying!

Fish are getting smaller and this is why the counts are so high on some boats. 15 pounders yesterday. Better than 5 pounds i guess. Easy to run the score up quick with that grade of fish.

Yea some boats are still scoring decent grade fish though. Sounds like the Aztec is out right now putting together a pretty epic trip.

Was on the boat a couple weeks back and got 25-50 BFT. Guess it all just depends.
