Great trip. Got onboard around 8:00 PM, no hurry to get off the dock incase there were any more walk ins. Ended up with 12 anglers. Left around 9:00--already loaded with bait. Made it nice to rig stuff up sitting at the dock instead of fighting the roll on the way out--by the time we left the bay I was finishing a beer and going to my bunk.

Crew was Shane (skipper), Monkey (2nd), Mark, Tyler and Andy from the RRIII.

Bait was a good mix of anchovy and sardine.

Seems like we got up sometime between 6:00 and 7:00, put out the troll rods and started poking around. Got a couple jig strikes and hit some paddies--first or second stop I got into a couple tough Bonito. After that we hit a couple good wide open YT bites and it was on--Mexican limits by 8:30-9:00 (60ish fish).

After that we spent the day looking for bird schools. Stopped on a lot of fish, especially the schools that would boil from the chum. I couldn't tell you how many stops we made but we hooked three, landed three. The first fish took the guy what seemed like an hour or so to get in. Had it at color a few times and it took off. The other two hit the deck within a few minutes. Three different fish, three different anglers, three separate stops. Seemed like the key was getting a good bait in the water right on the slide--all three hook ups were within the first minute or less of everybody casting out.

Shane spent a lot of time and effort looking--we were supposed to be back around 7:00 and we didn't get in until 9:30ish. No lack of effort from this crew, had a great time.

I called to get info on the overnight tribute on Thursday 5/10. Can anyone recommend a good flat fall? I have never used them. I'm getting anxious for this trip. Hope its a good one.

160-250 and change the factory floppy to a #8 J hook. Glow, dark pink and enchovy all work

The crew worked hard, VERY HARD!..

Great to see 3 guys up and searching with Gyros looking for that next spot of birds!

That was my first trip on the Tribute, I will be riding with them again. Landed 7 YT myself.

Thanks for the report! That size tuna is my favorite size to catch. I don't eat much tuna, and I don't like fish going to waste!
