I'm thinking about swapping out the gears in my Tranx 500PG to the HG gears. Has anyone out there on BD done this? If so, do I just need to switch the pinion and drive gears? All the other part numbers appear to be the same otherwise. I just want to be sure I'm not missing something.

Yes, it would be a straight swap of the main gear and pinion, no modification or additional parts needed.

You need new drag washers and the stainless washers except top notched washer for AR sleeve. ( gears are different sizes) washers do not interchange on the gears.
Smooth drag has the drag washers at a way lower cost than Shimano.

Thank you for the correction, the part numbers are different.

@Pablo2fish I apologize for the misinformation on the gear swap, the washer numbers are different. Steel drag plates are available for a little over $2-3 each. As @Goosed10 mentioned Smooth Drag is the place for aftermarket CF washers.
