Hi All,

Any of you use a Tranx? I just picked up my first one (500HG) at a really good price and I'm not too familiar with the VBS system.
Any advice on adjusting the brake collars (if adjusting helps) would be greatly appreciated. I'm used to casting my Lexa 400's a mile so I'm hoping this does the same. Pretty badass reel; especially at a 100 bucks off lol..
Thanks in advance for any help/tips.
Tim

Set every other one on then adjust after a few casts as appropriate.

I’ve found 2 on 4 off and spool tension off to be thumbless and the best in terms of distance. Any more on and it won’t ever backlash but distance is impacted

it is going to depend on the object you are casting and how hard you rip the rod forward. I have 2 pins across from each other to balance the spool on and 4 off I cast usually 160 to 200 gram flat flats and medium heavy bar jigs. I cast side arm from the bow and over hand. I use a swing cast when going over head. like the pendulum of a clock. The harder you rip the rod the more torque on the spool so you would need to have 4 pins on vs 2. Just my experiences. cheers
