Thing new, but this is a good reminder of why you should set your trailer up properly for the boat you are towing.

And for heaven’s sake, don’t tow with a Ford LOL

If anybody needs to check their tongue weight feel free to call or text me 425 956 4756 I have no problem lending this out. I moved my boat forward almost a full 18 in to achieve the correct tongue weight .

But the F150 EcoBoost can tow 12,000-lbs, and you wouldn’t even know it’s back there!

I had a 2014 that I used to pull my NR OS. It had more than plenty enough power to pull the ~10K but the tongue weight was a bit too much for my tastes. After a summer, I moved up to a 1 ton (and diesel cause why not!).

But When you tow with a Ford you don't have to do math and shit. Just lower the ball and hammer down.

Thanks again for lending me the scale. After adjusting my boat I'm right at 10% 1250#.

If anyone is looking for a weight distribution hitch with sway control check out the Anderson hitch. I have used used it with 2 different boats and 2 different trucks and it works great.
I will say that I didn't use it towing my 12k boat with my f350 DRW no hitch system can replace a dully when towing.

Now that I will be towing with a Ram SRW I will be using the Anderson hitch again.

All the ford jokes are just that! Put the kinda weight behind a truck everyday like I do for 285k miles and tell me your total mechanical problems. They are ugly, the interiors lack storage but the damn things can work.

Well, not a expert be any means compared to others on here, but have been pretty happy with the way my Expedition (which was bought specifically in 2013 to tow this) has been towing my new boat so far the few times I have towed it. With the chip in heavy tow mode you don't even know its back there. Will be even better when I finally get the trailer all set up in a few weeks. Just finished the new tiedowns, brake drums and bearings, New wiring, new tires and rims, new safety equipment (chains and E-brake setups) all waiting to be installed.

Ha! I guess you like you’re Ford like a proud papa! Truth is a large majority of professional shippers hauling RV’s, boats, and cars around choose Dodge. They get plenty of miles without mechanical issues... my buddy has over 400k on his Dodge dually right now.... All three of my boats transported out from the East were behind a high mile Dodge, so don’t kid yourself that somehow you have the goose that laid the golden egg...

The interiors of the Ford are the best! The dodge seats are not even close to the comfort and durability of the Ford. I’ve heard of guys finding Ford seats and doing a swap into the Dodge...

That ain't no fish! John is like those little itty bitty fish in the Asian Nail Salons where you stick your feet in the tank or the bluegill under the dock. Bite anything in the water.
