My good friend and fishing buddy Steve and I both had a great time as did I am sure, everybody on the trip. Tony Reyes Jr. ran a first rate operation. The food, the accomodations, the fishing, the service, were all awesome. There had previously been many issues with Tony Reyes Tours and many trips were cancelled due to permit issues in Mexico. Having said that, the permit issue seems to be resolved and Tony Reyes Tours is back! The drive from Orange County was about 6 hours to San Felipe. After a quick stop for a tourist visa we were loading our tackle onto the new boat. Well, maybe just new to me, as my last trip was 30 plus years ago on the old boat out of La Paz with Tony Reyes Sr. I now consider myself a regular passenger. Every 33 years, ok? The fishing and weather was amazing and Steve's best was a 44 lb Baqueta and mine was a 34 lb yellowtail. We released many small yellows and Cabrilla. An 80 lb grouper topped the list with over 20 Baqueta and hundreds of yellowtail caught. I don't know why they don't update their fish reports as the fishing was incredible. Met lots of quality people. Tim, Steve and Bill were just a few of the many exceptional people we met and I know we will all have great memories from this trip. Upon our return, Steve and I went straight to The Long Fin in Orange and booked the trip for next year. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

They were in waters between 200 and 250 ft. Used a dropper loop with cut baits just off the bottom. 80 lb test, min. Hold on.
