Fished the Tomahawk for the first time yesterday. We went pretty far north, I think up to San Onofre. It was a parking lot but the fishing was good. It wasnt wide open by any means but they were willing to bite bait all day. I brought 25, 30, 40, 60 and 80 lb setups but mainly fished the 25lb, 30’ of 25lb yo zuri pink to a size 2 94140 on a US90 Mega/Fathom 15 star drag. Ended up with 3 schoolie bft around 30lbs (gave the 3rd away) and 1 yft about 20 lbs, they were on butt hooked sardine. The key as usual was to change the bait often, if it wasn't swimming strong or wasn’t bit within 2-3 mins it got changed. We dropped jigs at night and that produced some fish, the biggest jig fish looked to be about 60 lbs. The Tomahawk is a solid operation and captain Loust is a character and a really fishy dude. Good trip and another great day on the water
