My first LR trip was a Glenn's tackle 7-day trip on the Q105. Glenn's tackle and the Q 105 are both gone now and so are the prices. I'm paying the same for a 3-day trip this Sept.

Bobby from Glenn's tackle gave away 3 custom rods and they were truly a work of art. IMG_2221.JPG

It looks like it was a 6 day trip.

Might explain why everyone involved is no longer is business.

My first long range trip beyond 1.5 days was also a 5-day on the Q105 in the 80's. We did go to Guadalupe; it wasn't a hot bite at the time. But was a great trip overall, with some decent 100+ yellowfin, big yellowtail, and spectacular just-under-the-boat passes by a HUGE great white.

But the following report of a 2011 trip aboard the Q105 was epic in every way. Grouper on breakfast sausage? You bet! Awesome, wish I'd been there.

My first trip was a 7 day on the Spirt of Adventure about 1994 ... I was a deckhand at the time so money was tight....it was pretty close to a $100 a day. The trip was the Tim Green Charter which still sails today....I went on that trip for 3 years in a row. My first trip I won farmer of the trip....I worked day boats and my 30# gear wasn't working at Cedros/Benito's. I hooked up all over the place but lost a lot of fish....my how times have changed!

It's crazy how many people did their first LR trip on the Q105. I don't know if it's a subconscious bias on my part because I did my first trip on the Q, but it just seems like a lot of people popped their cherry on that boat.
