I bet you didn't know that Arcola Illinois is the "Corn Broom Capital of the World".

    Lawn mower parades
    Pie eating contests
    Tractor Pulls
    Pickled egg eating competitions
    Thresher & Steam Tractor shows
    Beard contest
    Catch a greased pig competitions
Home made egg noodles for sale by the pound
Water cannon fight competition between dozens of volunteer firefighting battalions from all over the state.
    Home made quilt raffles
Home brewed hard liquor that will make 151 rum taste like Coolaid
    Motorcycle wheelie contests
    Antique car shows
Catching catfish, cut their heads off and hang them on the bridge trusses so the cars drive under them
    Pig calling competitions
    4 x 4 mud bog races
Both kinds of music playing Country............... & Western
A preacher walking around telling everyone they're gonna go to hell if they don't show up to church on Sunday
Kids walking the streets with pellet guns shooting sparrows, pigeons, and occasionaly a neighbors cat
Climbing up the water tower on a warm summers night just to see forever across the flatlands
Shooting a rabbit, squirrel, pheasant, & dove in the same day, and all you gotta do is walk out your door gun in hand & head down the railroad tracks

These are just a few of things that have not changed for decades in small midwest communities.........................I'm kinda missing it right now.

I've got a friend from Lebanon Missouri.
He used to work at the Levi factory until they closed it up and move overseas.

not a bad town, just difficult moving to the mainland after living outside of it for 14 years. the two boys are the most popular kids in high school, they literally need two dicks, the girls are all about "the hawaiian boys".

Reminds me of the Threshing Bee in ND! Annual farm tractor parade in the family homeland, and, a really good time with really great people! This is THE, annual event for Divide County.

Some tractors are over 100 years old, fully restored and steam driven. I drove a nice Case in the parade last time we were out there. It's only 6 hours and 30 minutes from the Billings airport.

And yes, the fishing and hunting is great.
