I made my way over the mountains to my cabin and worked on it most of Friday. Sitting at the dinner table I realized I lost my wedding ring somewhere. Well shit so I told my son I would drop him off in the morning but wanted to look for my ring that morning while it was still recent. I Looked for it for about 30 minutes when I look outside and see a deer with a yearling. The yearling was looking over its shoulder so I got my binoculars and sure as shit here he comes. 50 yards behind the cabin. My trail cam even picked up on some of the action.

That's a nice surprise!! So it was opening morning and you did not plan on hunting?? Was that a resident buck that you have pics of on your T-Cam??

So, I'm curious..did you find the ring?? Even a relatively cheap metal detector works wonders.

Nice job, and good luck with the ring.......

No it wasn't a resident buck I think he just had something else on his mind with the doe. And no I haven't found that ring yet. Thanks Swanny.

Where's the cabin? Go ahead and pm me the address and I'll come look for it this weekend (through my scope of course)

In all seriousness, I hope you find the ring and dandy buck!

Seems like we are already solidly in pre-rut on both sides of the hill. The bugger has a pretty swollen neck already. Nice going!

As a single man that spends a good amount of time hunting each year (enough that I have scared off girlfriends with my absenteeism), I think trading a wedding ring for a nice buck is a great deal.

I am really more of a catch and release guy myself.

For conservation... yeah that's definitely it.

20170925_121828.jpg Made a quick tip over to the cabin to install a set of attic stairs and guess what I found.
