I spent the weekend at Earnie's (Often) hunting up on the shore. I saw some deer and had some solitude in the stand. I just could'nt pass up this shot. Mathews Q2XL--Gold Tip arrow and a 100 grain Rocket Steelhead 20 feet up and a 20 yard shot 5:19 PM Saturday. I assure ya he never felt a thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A fox is essentially a varmit in my book. Coyotes, praire dogs, skunks, whatever. They have very few natural enemies outside of man and cause lots of problems when over populated. I'm sure that fox has eaten lots of duck eggs in his day. Hunters play a role in keeping varmit populations in check. You aren't obligated to eat it and as long as it was legal to shoot it, right on. Nice fucking shot.

You have to realize that in California, most people think its OK when mountain lions kill joggers and coyotes snatch pets from yards. Hell, when that happens, us Californias usually pass some stupid fucking proposition to protect them even further. So, you will likely get some blank stares and "what the fucks" on this board from that post. But from me, you get a big :rockin: :appl:

20 yards? If you were aiming for "between the eyes" then you missed by almost 3/8" ... very sloppy. :)

    That is one awsome shot!

Nice shot on the fox, I've killed 6 of the varmints this year in the chicken coop, just got tire of loosing chickens.

Outside of the coop they get a free pass, inside they get the .22.

It's been an interesting year for varmints killing my chickens, foxes, coons, skunks ferral cats, and even a pair of Siberian Huskies (Only one got to leave)
but I've been able to stay on top of of it.

I'm just running out of fresh places to plant them.

That fox for will make a cool jacket collar.

Is his head laying on a mushroom, or does it have a giant tumor?

Do you have any other pictures? i didn't really get a good look at where you shot it. ;)

that's a great shot. but let me ask you something, what makes you think it didn't feel a thing? not that i care if it did, just curious to know why you think that.
