Shotgun!!...Hell, I've killed many with a rock. You like to hunt the ruffed or the big dumb blues?

Brings back alot of memories, when I was little I used to follow pop's dear hunting, I would carry a .22 or a 20 gauge and we used to seem to always have a grouse breast for dinner at hunting camp (wrapped in bacon and pan fried)...mmmmmmm..

Lot of good grouse hunting and campsites in the Teanaway..about a 3 hr drive....thanks for the reminder....

Mostly encounter ruffed grouse. We do get a 'blue bomber' up higher often enough that it is not a celebratory moment......some braggin' anyway. I have still to this day killed more grouse with a head shot using my deer rifle than I have with a shotgun. I got some chinese lettuce wrap marinade this year, gonna try it on grouse. Our deer camp got hit hard with blow downs, we're gonna make a trip early and prep camp for trailers and hunt a bit.
