Found a couple of brochures from the 1994/1995 fishing season for the Excel and Qualifier 105 that were in surprisingly good condition.
Interesting to note the following....
In the nearly 30 years it looks like the cost of trips have doubled. I see 3 day trips in the summer of 1994 for $635.
Albacore only trips are mentioned.
Suggested gear is interesting. For 10 day trips a Penn 6/0 or a 600 Series Newell on a 5 1/2 foot rod is recommended for 80lb mono. Had to be tough back then...
Rods at 5 1/4 feet are recommended.
Fish processing was available back then while at sea on the Q105 at .30 cents per pound whole. Bottom right corner of last pic of Q105 brochure. HD Ziplock bag cost extra.
A lot sure has changed. Makes me wonder what a long range brochure would look like 20 years from now... not only in terms of costs but what the recommended gear would look like then....
