I bet that Tiberon clamp will fit,,theyre pretty wide
I’ve tried the size they made for the Cedros 12 and that didn’t work.
Can anyone provide a measurement between the factory mounting bolts? I am assuming the 10S and 12S are identical?
Smidge under 1 1/4
Why didn’t that clamp work? Too big?
No the clamp is fine... where you screw the bolts into on the reel seat is the problem refer to the picture above of the Cedros and the Tesoro
Has anyone verified if the Tiburon Tranx 400 reel clamp works on the Tesoro? I'm a bit disappointed trying to get this mounted to a SS6480H DH rod. Studs are a bit narrow for a Cork Puppy.
Well I decided to be the guinea pig here and purchased the $50 Tiburon Tranx400 clamp. It definitely does not fit even though Tiburon says it would. So I can definitively answer my own question and say there is no suitable DH clamp for the Tesoro. The Cork Puppy sort of fits, but don't expect to be able to optimally mount the reel to the handle.
At this point I think the only solution is to mount a Fuji plate reel seat. Very surprised that Okuma did not design this properly knowing that many of these reels might be used on deck hand rods for casting jigs.
The Okuma rep gave you false information. The Tranx 400 clamp will not fit. The area on the foot where the studs screw in stick out by about 4mm preventing any of the Tiburon clamps from attaching.
Just talked to Okuma and they said we're pretty much out of luck if you want to mount to a deckhand style rod having a wider butt like an Ulua or SS6480H. They are aware of the problem but no solution is available nor are they contemplating a solution or discussing with Tiburon a possible solution. So there you have it from the horse's mouth.
I just seen this Danny! Lol what a dick
It is what it is
At least I can mount my reels on my rods with no worries
Did I offend you ?
Maybe you needed to be offended
Being able to mount the reel is clearly a plus.
I’m a proud owner of a new TAc80 with a reel seat works just fine lol.
