"Team" means a group of people.
"Abu" is a small bug, not unlike the one that got caught in the drying finish with the rod the bears the same name.
    "Gawa" means river.
The Abu River is in Kyushu, Japan. These are three silvery swimbait rods built for some of the members of a bass fishing team.

They wanted silver thread, and silver is what they got.

They wanted the rods to be the same, down to the hand turned EVA grips. The new FK7 non-slip reel seats are proving to be very popular here. They are really comfortable to grip--with a soft(er) non-slip feel.
They are pretty spendy; 400 percent more than a standard trigger reel seat.

They chose a font that I have not used before, but looks pretty cool.

(notice the black nylon size A endcaps, which is exactly the opposite of the usual black wrapped guides, with silver endcaps).
I used the one piece Pac Bay guides for the Stripper, #16, and the next three, #12, #10, #08. Then I went to a Fuji SiC ring LNSG #08, two #07's, and two #06's.

I think they will make some fine weapons.:elephant:

Nice rods! What pac bay guides are you using? I've never seen those single stemmed legs on a double foot guide.

Weird how things come full circle.
12 years ago, when I opened my shop in Japan, the first several dozen spiral wrapped rods (bass, baitcasting) we sold used these same PAC BAY LCNCG guides. A couple years later, the bulk of my custom rods that were being made by Master Rod Crafter Wade C. used almost exclusively Fuji LNSG SiC guides.
The past year or so, the Pac Bay guides are being ordered by my Japanese Clients again.
Guides, as with the thread colors/art are chosen by the client, not me (I must remind myself, from time to time).

I personally like the guides very much. The profile is nice, as well as the tangle free design. Before I crashed and burned, I averaged 225 day a year on the water, and these guides were on a lot of my weapons.

Hey, two other people told me their Salty Dawg shirts are back prints.
My front print makes me feel special [IMG](Or Ali made a mistake?).
