This is now a reality ... I can't say where because it's not my hard earned info ...
I've seen single fish caught locally over the years and have caught a couple surf fishin Zuma but I got a buddy who targeted them inshore and got four between 7 and 10 lbs..
First time I've heard of multiple fish being caught local..
He went back this morning and fucked em up again and said he had bogger fish...
I'm really stoked to go with and target these things but me and him are doin a 2 day crew trip on the whale watch boat again today and it will have to wait til we get back...

The bays have had bones and Corvina for many years but stripers and salmon don't show often. I hope they stick around. There are some big ass needle fish in the back bays too along with some odd grouper. Reminds me of Cabo.

A few very warm water years exotics made it to so cal. A few of those years dating back along time ago. They seeked warmer water as the water got colder. They swam deeper into bays. Got trapped, if they try and leave they hit a cold water fence and turn back around into the shallows that get heated from the sun. Permanent. Jack Crevalle on top water tight to the rocks. Groupers. And more. Corvina are cool

Cold water fish. Have only seen two salmon south. One was landed on a half day boat out of o side. Fishing sculpin and a salmon was caught. The second salmon was at the rock pile fishing for codfish dead of winter. Coronados. Stripers rad! Exotics and cold water fish

Easy, Newport back bay under the bridge...that’s where I used to get them to 20#...not sure if it’s apart of the closure though...it’s been a while

Can't wait to see the pictures of you holding up the Stripers with the shore in the background to confirm authenticity. You think WSB are ghosts, hold on.

They re around and have been around for a while …...one of the local harbors had a over wintering population..that got decimated a few years ago by Sealions.
There are 2 locations that supposedly have breeding populations ..that stay around yearly . here s your hint

This year there were quite a few caught up and down the coast from Ocean Beach north.

I ve caught A salmon from the surf and busted off bigger WSB then my avatar. I have also lost 2 Cabrilla in the surf 2 years ago and missed a striper that same morning in a place that everyone goes to and drives by daily. I ve had mornings where I ve caught more in 2 hours on lures then I would on a hot half day bite. That same year I went 3 for 8 on firecracker yellowtail. That's why I love the surf ...you never know what you ll get.

Just keep putting your time in , its all about time on the water.
I can t emphasis this enough. It s like anything else you want to be good at, the more time you put into it, the better you ll be .
