Dana Wharf offers specific trips as part of their Halibut Derby. Think it starts late Winter.

With the rockfish closer coming up, how would you try and specifically target halibut from a 1/2 day boat?

I take the $45 boat fare, $20 galley tab, $20 tip to a local Korean market and buy one of their 5lb live ‘halibut’ (really a flounder but tastes just as good) in the tank. They even cut it up in a sashimi platter as part of the cost. I’ve never been skunk on these trips and it doesn’t take nearly as long as half a day. :D
