jumped on the outrider Monday night and head to Catalina where the bait bots were there waiting for us. Filled the wells with squid and off we went to tanner around 11pm.
Woke up with the motors shutting down around 5:30-6ish and took maybe 5 minutes for someone to get bit. Dropped my squid down and a few minutes later I'm on, 10 minutes into the fight someone wraps my line and breaks me off.
After we decked a few fish to 90lbs I was able to get bit again, 30 minutes later on 60lb floro I finally land my first big bluefin after more than 6 month long journey since April. I ended up getting limits and handed a fish off to a less fortunate angler.

What worked: 80lb floro during grey light, 2oz glow slider got bit better than anyone else in grey light. Once the sun came up 60lb floro got bit all day with regular 2oz slider. Wind was 15knts all day so anyone less than 2oz of weight most likely didn't get bit as much. Need the extra weight to get down 120ft to the fish. image.jpeg image.png image.jpeg

Great job!! Wish we could have gone same day. We went next day. Whole other world!!! Tough as shit!! The squid was hard to get. I would not have dared trying to pass squid off another boat in those swells.lol

Hey Vinnie, nice job. We went Friday night on Catallac, gorgeous weather, excellent fishing. 5 for 11 due to sharks and some light line guys. Biggest was Rose's BFT at about 120 (the fish, note Rose), smallest about 80 pounds. Going again this weekend if we can pull it off. Weather looks good.
