Been that way all my life. Thought I'd share my simple way to make these treats.

    Warning; picture heavy

    IMG_0181.JPG
One - 2 lb. bass; best with Reds.

    IMG_0188.JPG Flour and bread crumbs

IMG_0190.JPG Eggs and a splash of milk

IMG_0191.JPG Fish into flour/bread crumbs first

IMG_0193.JPG Then egg/milk and back into flour/bread crumbs

IMG_0194.JPG Ready for frying. Paper plates for everything

IMG_0203.JPG 1/4" deep with oil of choice

    IMG_0212.JPG Sea salt when hot

IMG_0229.JPG Taco shells - make them round for filling

IMG_0248.JPG Or for the "other guys" heat them up in this plastic thing

IMG_0232.JPG Condiments of your choice. I have some German in me so I like Sauerkraut. This Yum Yum shit is good in moderation. I prefer cabbage usually

IMG_0236.JPG Layer of cheese in micro for 10 seconds

IMG_0238.JPG Break up the fish for condiment saturation

IMG_0240.JPG Sauerkraut and Yum Yum sauce

IMG_0243.JPG Salsa and Yum Yum sauce

IMG_0245.JPG Finish with lettuce or cabbage

Tried a few recipes for Baja sauce, however not authentic. Any tips there would be appreciated.

    Bon Appetit!

Since you mentioned cabbage, I wonder how kimchi would work on a fish taco?

I'd eat it. Sarcasm and all.

I dont live in million dollar house...but....

    Skip the batter.

Season fish with S, P, Cayan, Cumin. Hot pan with little oil.

Sriracha mixed in sour cream with extra cayan and maybe some garlic powder.

Lettuce, tomato, cheese, warm tortilla with fish and spicy sour cream.

    Done.

This thread will be as entertaining as how to rig flatfall or best rod for this reel.

    Have at it.

    It works really good.

I like to add Kimchi to salads featuring a homemade vinagrette.
The spiciness adds another nice flavor profile.

My batter mix is usually one beer, one cup of flour, and a touch of baking soda. Food looks good, wouldn’t pay attention to the guy who can’t handle his coors water beer.

well he may be drunk but I gotta agree...no fresh salsa?...gotta be shredded cabbage.from 1979 till the 90s I'd go to the same outstanding little taco stand in ensenada...get three and eat them there and three more for the road...2 bucks ..still the best fish tacos I ever ate ..if they have served me what's in the pictures I'd have by passed that place...for the record..on my second beer
