We headed out to the Nine-mile Bank on Ali’s 37 Sea Vee Sunday morning. Brett and Jeremy we’re also on board to round out a great team. Our first drift was a really long one. But Ali is very particular and checks out the bottom structure as well as the bait situation very carefully.I think everybody was thinking it’s time to bust a move when the bobber went down. Now it’s game on and after a 2 1/2 hour battle and about 12 jumps out of the water we get the fish to gaffing range. It was great to see three gaffs go in and pull the sword onto the deck. These swords have tremendous strength and stamina. We had the fish up to the boat several times and he just took off. It was a real seesaw for quite a while but we finally won. Thanks Ali for another great day on the water.
