I use an Alps backpack I found at Turner's a couple years ago and use the small Plano boxes so they stay flat inside. Added a couple PVC rod holders and I'm good to go.

I found a shoulder/sling backpack my dad had laying around. It's smaller then a regular backpack but holds a 3600 tray and a couple 12oz cans.

It's nice not having to take it off to get to things. Just slide it around the front.

    I live in San Diego.
I try to really limit what I take into the surf.
I bring a small backpack tackle bag with lots of possibilities and often 2 poles to pick at the beach - the bag and one rod stay in my car.
I wear a fishing / sun shirt with 2 big chest pockets as an overshirt.
I carry pliers, forceps, and a knife on my belt, stuff a small mesh bag in a pocket (in case I catch a keeper), and load 2 small plano boxes in the chest pockets (hooks, sinkers & selected surf lures). And I am ready to fish.

I tend to fish by wading and I slowly move from undertow area to undertow area.

I am mostly a catch and release guy ((( because I seem to mostly catch small fish )))

    Tight lines,

Wow guys. I guess as a bait fisherman I have it easy. A pack of hooks, and a few sinkers and mayyybe some gulp. Fits in two pockets. Plus nail clippers.

Sling bag for essentials. Backpack used by baseball players when I need more storage and want to take 2 rods. PVC added for rods. Also I’ve been using a Promar net for catching sand crabs.
