Surf fishing in San Felipe and midriff area

    Well Rick, with some luck you can catch triggerfish on the pier or breakwall on the south of San Felipe, but if you really want to catch one you have 3 options:
    1. rent a panga a fish near to Machorro mount 12-15 minutes north san felipe there the rocky bottom is full of spotties and cochis
    2. go all the way to the konsag Island
    3. drive to puertecitos or Gonzaga and fish from shore. The highway to gonzaga is in really good shape

    Try off any rock point. I had my fish trap tipped with squid stuck in the rocks at Puertocitos recently and a trigger or two chewed the rubber up bad but I got the head back to fish again another day.

    Are there ever any yellowtail or mako sharks in gonzaga area?

    I asked around and called a buddy in my camp 25 miles south of town and he said everything was good.
