Coming home from my place at Castro's Camp last night Sunday the 8th ran into the heaviest traffic I have ever seen south of Ensenada. Been traveling in Baja for 50 plus years this was the worst. It took two hours to go from just South of Madenero to the Hotel Coral where I called Uncle and decided not to drive in the dark with the crazy traffic. Checked in about 8:00PM got a room went to dinner. Now this was my first stay at the Coral it was expensive but I though it would be a treat for my wife. Dinner was good and drinks were good. Went up to the room to brush my teeth and get ready for bed. Went into the bathroom and there on the mirror over the sink was a sign DO NOT DRINK THIS WATER DANGER!! What the hell, this was a 200 dollar plus room in what I thought was a first class establishment. I guess I mistook the Coral for the EL Jardine which has its own water purification plant on site for Guillermo's guests. I know its a little bitchy but what a disappointment. The fishing a Castro's tough Saturday do to high winds however Sunday had great weather and fishing was good yellow tail in real got numbers with a few Sea Bass. Most fish taken on Sabiki caught live bait. Sorry for my rant.

If you spend a lot of time in Baja, you know you can brush your teeth, rinse your mouth, and gargle in the shower with tap water because you have built up enough resistance. The Coral is expensive, yes, but they rely on public water systems. This sign about drinking the water goes hand and hand with the sign about not taking hookers to your boat in the slips.

    It's Mexico, relax.

I used to keep bottled water in the bathroom in Mariano to rinse. Now, me vale madre, the pussy is more dangerous than the water.

Unlike the US, bottled water is still cheaper than soda in Mex. You should always have at lease a 2L bottle of Bonafont in your truck.

    saludos y tranquilo

Rule of thumb is never drink tap water, don't use it to cook.

Be sure to use purified ICE or cristalino in your coolers. Ice named 'blanco' is not purified.

I think my only stomach problems have come from tripe tacos once and bad salsa. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Mexico is a huge country and you can't drink the water anywhere.
That's just how it is. If you hang around enough you get some what immune.
    That's life.

in Baja, at the East Cape, they have Spring Water
just Bring Bottle water, too the other places and watch out for the
Lettuce too, if they Rinse it with regular Water
or Just bring a Butt Plug and you don't have
too worry about it till it blows out,

You would think the nicest "3rd world" country on the planet would have potable water.

This is true. We used to bring down powdered Gatorade and use the spring water at the East Cape to mix it.

That said, there were trips where I was diving and spraying off one side of the boat and coming up on the other side so I didn't swim through it.

Man what a shitty thread subject this has been.
