Your Wife might not mind this one.
GAS THEM SUCKERS!!!!!I'd do it where i live now but it's hopeless here!
She'll think I'm having fun though
we have used the propane-oxygen method but it got too expensive for the amount of oxygen we used. no we use the tube-crank-poison in the hole way and it does well. i kid you not, i had one area 5 acres with hundreds and hundreds of gophers. what happens is a new tract of homes is built and all the fuckers come over to my land, i've been dealing with this for 4 years now and almost have them all gone. when we would use the propane oxygen way I would have to call the police and warn them, they would come out and watch, they thought that was so funny.
Okay so I tried the smokebombs on them (because that's what I had) and it seemed to work for a couple days. I put 2 in the front yard and 2 in the back. The front yard is still clear at least for now but the backyard started back up today.
I noticed some dirt piles under the shed in the backyard and that got me thinking that there could be some holes under the house so I'm a little concerned that I could get some carbon monoxide in the house. I think I'm pretty sealed up but not 100% sure.
I still have bait from my run to Lowes last week so I'm going to go with the bait guys and try that next. If that doesn't work then I think I'll go with the traps just to be safe.
Thanks for all the help dudez
Who care about Gophers Dean. It's Friday!!!!
Now I have gophers and a headache
Push in those paint stir sticks and get ready. When you see one move blast them with the .50 cal. You don't have to hit them just get close.
I feel your pain bro! Have tried everything and those suckers just keep coming up in my grass. I'm not too worried about the other areas since we're on almost an acre and there's no hope to defend the other turf. But I tried for a while.
Tried the traps, smoke bombs, bait dispenser. I think the bait works best but I get nervous about our dog eating one, and any of the neighbor dogs that come up to visit.
So I borrowed a high powered air rifle from my neighbor. Got one last week and just whacked another one this afternoon. But I have too much free time on my hands these days.............
3 cats 2 dogs.......
I use a 410
Sounds like fun Kurt. I don't have a .50 cal. though and I'm afraid if you brought yours over we wouldn't get a second shot off before the ghetto bird would be circling
I'm a little worried about leaving pellets in the ground too Rick. You never know if the dog might dig them up and eat some.
My dog isn't much of a hunter I guess. He only managed to get one in the last 2 years
Got some traps yesterday though and my first confirmed kill A little before dark last night I set 2 traps in one hole (like the vid Mike linked) and got this guy.
I'm telling ya, the traps are the ticket! With the traps, you SEE and know you scored, and aren't left just wondering.
Welcome to the elite list of new professional Gopher hunters .

I've been having trouble with the traps the last few days. I tried 6 different times and got 0 gophers. Meanwhile there appears to be 3 main areas that they are partying in. Every time I set the trap it gets backfilled. and I have to dig it out. The first couple sets I did I got a gophers every time. Now none. Today I tried the carbon monoxide method I guess I'll have to wait and see. First I marked all the recent mounds then I covered them all up. One by one I shoved the hose into the hole and then tossed a shovel full of dirt on top of it to seal it. I left it in for 15-20 minutes and sealed off the hole after I pulled the hose out. Wish me luck.
Mike I tried the smoke bombs and it didn't seem to do anything.
Here is a pic of my redneck gopher gasser
The red neck method, I love it............
red neck methods, I like it.....CLASSIC. Good luck Dean. If it works, you might be onto something.
I don't know shit about cars but wouldn't all the back pressure be bad for your car?
