    Aloha,

Launched a little late today out of Honokohau after dealing with battery gremlins at the launch ramp. Before we even got all the lures out we got bit and hooked up nice striped marlin that tried to jump into the boat at leader. Later on we got another stripey that we were able to release cleanly after a quick battle. Later in the AM we got a mahi that bit a purple softhead running in a corner position and we finally had some dinner in the box. In the early afternoon the bite picked up again and we caught a spearfish. Bob got it to leader so quickly that I barely was able to clear lines when I had to go leader the fish so I never even had time to setup the GoPro. As soon as we got the lines back out after releasing the spearfish, we got bit on the stinger again and it was another stripey. We had a tag stick handy so we put a tag in this fish. A really fun day out there for us today with lots of action on the small billfish.

3 marlin, a spearfish, and mahi? I think I would call that a good. Too bad you did not add an ahi. That would have made it a great day! Good going.

    Mike,

Nice story and nicer videos! You definitely have that billfish catch and release thing down. Congrats to you and your crew.
