The boldwater moved Sunday. She’s on the trailer and being gutted currently. Off to the glass shop in Everett on Wednesday.

After shopping around fiberglass guys, little hoquiam shipyard in Hoquiam, WA was the best all around deal. They have an incredible reputation, the owner Howard Moe is great to deal with, I can check in regularly when im in Westport, they also had time for a project. I delivered it a week ago. Progress is being made.

The total extension is going to 5.5 feet. Making is 35 on the water line, and about 41’ overall. Aiming for 350 gallons of fuel, massive fish boxes, and a possible RSW system powered by a small diesel genset.

Power is going to be outboards, and will be a pair of used 350 Yamahas or triple Honda 250’s. Budget will depend on what my Coldwater sells for when I list it at the end of June.

Electronics are going to be all Furuno/Timezero

Little Hoquim builds a walkaround of their own, on an older tollycraft hull. They built a walk-around house mold, and it’s probably the way I will end up going. The only change will be a 1 piece reversed windshield. The visibility can’t be beat.
    More pictures next week.....

Twin 350 and or triple 250 seems light on power but what a cool project! I thought you were going to have a couple boats not get rid of the coldwater. Good luck with with it. Can’t wait to see it come together

    Major project....what fun.
I know it'd probably be too expensive and too much unknown about them but it'd sure be cool to have an couple/three COX 300's hanging off of that thing. That'd make you pure diesel. Texas Diesel Outboard has a FB page that's kind of fun to scroll through. You can seach "Texas Diesel Outboard" to find it. They have an Invincible CC, not sure what size, 36' or 39 I think. They replaced 3 Yamaha 300's with the COX. What was interesting during their testing, top end they lost about 3 to 5 mph in speed but were burning 27 to 30 gallons less with the COX. Of course the boat does 50 or better.

Wow their shop is empty. Last time I was up there (8 months maybe) talking with Howard Moe they had 8-10 large projects and rebuilds going on. Super nice guy with years of building behind the company.

Look forward to watching your progress. Will be an interesting build as most we see are alloy.

    Good Luck!

I like the idea of twin straight shaft diesels on this boat... the way the politics in this state are, who knows what the future of gas will be, red diesel will never go away.
On the second one for sure. It’s 110k said and done for new Volvo’s or yanmars. About 85k for re-con 5.9 370 Cummins.
If the hull does what I want, you can bet on shafts for number 2!

    Please let us pp
They did. I got lucky with his schedule. It has also been fun working with the prospective new owner of little hoquiam who has been involved in the day to day operations the last couple weeks. I hope they get the environmental fesabilty stuff figured out for the sale to go through. Brads family has a lot of history in Westport and the Westport charter boat industry. He wants to start building more sport boats.

Extension molds are made. Hull is completely ground, old tunnels being cut out etc. we should have a lengthened hull by the end of the week.
I can not emphasize how competent Little Hoquiam is. The place is just old school cool. Attention to detail and the amount of competence and skill set of each employee is so cool. Just beyond impressed with the experience so far and can’t wait for this boat!
