so I know in today’s world coolers are a strange issue because of politics. I know that was on my mind when I bought my rtic soft cooler about a year ago. 8 months into owning the zipper broke and I contacted them about getting it fixed.....
I emailed them twice, with some time in between and followed with a calm to which they said they had replied to both my emails. I informed them this was not the case and was told to recontact them with the information they asked. Well more emailed and more waiting and low and behold it’s no longer under warranty since it’s now been a year from it’s purchase date. RTIC customer service didn’t even offer the fix it for a price. Was told tough loss and good day more or less. No try to retain customers or offer alternatives.
To me customer service is huge. They will
It be getting my business and I recommend no one else do. Pelican is a good brand with great customer service, a brand who will be getting my business.
Below are pictures of the issue which to me is an obvious issue that a warranty claim should remedy. I STRESS AGAIN, RTIC HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I hace used polar bear coolers for 6 years. Their first modem had issues and they replaced them for free beyond the warranty date. I have since bought more as well as my crew and friends.
I can take 200# of ice on 5 bags. When the bad is empty. That for easily on the small cuddy.

Costco....Coho...soft side cooler. $49.99

Only a matter of time before they sell Coho rigid rotomolded coolers....maybe they call them Chinook coolers.

Hmmm........I have had this model for over 2 years with no problems......did you keep the zipper lubricated as required?
I did regularly. I’m sure the product is great but the customer service was crap. They drew out the conversation so they did not have to do a claim. Said the replied to my emails and did not, stuck to that story when I called them. Manager was terrible, she started yelling into the phone when I have never experience such terrible service.

I only have their roto molded cooler so I have not had any issues. Your experience could be an isolated issue or indicative of a lack of customer service. I have little time for companies that follow the later. Too many good ones out there.
I’m pretty much sticking with hydroflask and pelican from here on out. In fact hydroflask just replaced two of their 40oz no questions asked. Sent them pics and did the test they require and with in less than a week new ones are on the way.

Most plastic zippers of that type fail in fairly short order. Can't tell you how many zippers on polar fleece jackets have failed on me.

For what it's worth, I picked up the 45 Qt RTIC and was not very impressed with how long ice lasted in it. I think one of my old Igloos did the job almost as well .

I got a defected RTIC cooler last year. The lid was barely holding together, it cracked on both sides.

Here's the reply :
Hi Formar,
Thank you for reaching out! We apologize this has happened. This is something that can happen when the lid of the cooler is overextended and is not something that is covered under the manufacturing error warranty. We apologize.
Sincerely,
Aimee

I had a similar issue with an RTIC soft cooler. I love it otherwise. Contacted about repair. They only responded about how I was beyond warranty. I told them I realized that and would be happy to pay for repair as I didn't want an otherwise functional cooler to become trash. They were in uninterested in that. Said they don't do repairs. Bummer cause they work great and are far more affordable than other brands. Happened after about 1.5 years of modest use.
