I orginally built this Sabre 196-7 in 1982. With some extra time on my hands this past month, I stripped the rod, extended it to 8'6" and re-wrapped it. The extension is a 24", 1" OD, T6061 aluminum tube expoxied to the blank with a 6" overlap. I also drilled small holes and pinned the extension in 2 places. There are 10 Fuji guides plus a tip and a single wrap of cork tape.

The reel is a Penn Squidder with an Accurate frame and side plates.

Firm prices are:
  • Rod by itself = $100
  • Reel by itself = $100
  • Rod and Reel together = $160
Pickup in the South Bay (South of the 91/Artesia Blvd, West of the 110).

Nice ol" setup! Just add albacore. Those Accurate sideplates and frame when new cost what you're asking for the whole setup. glws
